Connecting People With God & One Another

Holy Scriptures

We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testament, to be the inspired Word of God without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life (II Timothy 3:16, 17; II Peter 1:20, 21; Matthew 5:18, John 16:12, 13).

The Godhead

We believe in one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; II Corinthians 13:14).

The Person and Work of Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of the Virgin Mary.  He died on the cross a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures.  The death of Christ was substitutionary:  He died for all men, taking their penalty for sin.  Further, He arose from the dead, ascended into Heaven where at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate (John 1:1, 2, 14; Luke 1:35; Romans 3:24, 25; 8:34; Ephesians 1:7, I Peter 1:3-5; 2:24; Acts 1:9, 10; Hebrew 9:24; I John 2:1,2).

The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit

We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service (John 16:8-11, 13; II Corinthians 3:6, I John 2:20-27; I Corinthians 12:12-14; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13, 14; 5:8).

The Total Depravity of Man

We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost, and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:22, 23; 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3, 12).

Salvation

We believe that the shed of blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for the justification and salvation for all who believe, and that only such as receive Jesus Christ by faith are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become the Children of God (Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-10; John 1:12, I Peter 1:18, 19).  No good works can serve to gain salvation or to keep one saved, but good works are a natural result of salvation.  Those who are saved are to be helping spread the gospel and to be living consistent with the desires of Christ for His people.

The Second Advent of Christ

We believe in the personal, premillenial, and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that this “blessed hope” has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.  We believe that the Tribulation and Second Coming of Christ (Revelation) follow the Rapture (I Thessalonians 5:1-10; 4:13-18; 5:9; Revelation 19:11-16; 20: 1-6; 3:10; Zechariah 14:4-11).

The Eternal State

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy in the Lord, and of the unbeliever to everlasting conscious punishment.

We believe in the reality of heaven as a place to which believers go to be with the Lord immediately upon death and in the reality of hell as the place to which unbelievers go to immediately upon death (Matthew 25:41-46; Mark 9:43-48; Luke 16:19-26; 23:43; John 5:28-29; 11:25-26; II Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:23; 3:21; I Thessalonians 4:16, 17; II Thessalonians 1:7-9; Jude 6, 7; Revelation 20:4-6, 11-15).

The Church

We believe that the true church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the Head.  We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ (Ephesians 1:22, 23; 5:25-27; I Corinthians 12:12-14; II Corinthians. 11:2; Acts 14:27; 20:17, 28-32; I Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-11).

 Baptism and the Lord’s Supper

We believe that water baptism soon after accepting Christ as personal Savior is a testimony of death to sin and resurrection to a new life, and that the Lord’s Supper is a memorial service setting forth in sacred and symbolic manner the death of the Lord Jesus Christ; that all true believers and only believers should share in it while they are walking with the Lord (I Corinthians 11:23-34; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 8:36-38).

The Eternal Life and Assurance of the Believer

We believe in the eternal life and the assurance of the believer (John 6:37-40; 10:27-30; Romans 8:1, 38-39; 13:13, 14; Galatians 5:13; Titus 2:11-15; I Peter 1:5; I Corinthians 1:4-8).

The Separation of the Believer

We believe that all the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Savior and Lord; and that separation from all religious apostasy, all worldly and sinful pleasure, practices, and associations is commanded by God (II Timothy 3:1-5; Romans 12:1-2; 14:13; I John 2:15-17; II John 9-11; II Corinthians 6:14; 7-1).

The Personality of Satan

We believe that Satan is a person, the author of sin and the cause of the fall.  He is the open and declared enemy of God and man; and he shall be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire (Job 1:6-7; Isaiah 14:12-17; Matthew 4:2-11; 25:41; Revelation 20:10).
